Government Overview
A Dictatorship executes decisions instantly. There are no councils, no ratification delays, no diplomatic posturing. The Dictator issues an order; the factories comply within the tick. Military production lines run at maximum throughput because questioning the queue is not permitted.
In Planetia, this translates to the fastest ship construction of any government. Cruisers roll off the line 25% faster. Shipyard upgrades complete before your rivals finish their first mine. Upkeep costs — the ever-present drag on large fleets — are reduced, letting you sustain a larger standing military on the same income base.

Gameplay Implications
The 25% shipyard speed bonus is the most decisive time advantage of any government in the early-game window. At 1× speed, a Shipyard L1 trains a Cruiser in approximately 8 ticks baseline; under Dictatorship it completes in ~6 ticks. At scale across a L8 Shipyard, the window for fielding a Battleship-class fleet opens 15–20 ticks before any other government can match it.
The -10% upkeep reduction frees resources that would otherwise drain every 5 ticks. At mid-game fleet sizes (50+ ships), this saves 2,000–5,000M per 10 ticks — equivalent to two extra Metal Mine levels in passive income.
Play Dictatorship if: you want to win through early military aggression, specifically the Cruiser Rush strategy (see Advanced Strategy), or if you need to establish territorial dominance before the tech race starts.
Avoid Dictatorship if: your alliance relies on you for economic support or diplomacy — Dictatorship has no income or diplomatic bonuses, and you will lag peers in resource generation.
Ideal Race Pairings
- Zikoan: Zikoan’s +20% Fighter attack combined with Dictatorship’s production speed makes the early Fighter swarm devastatingly fast to build and effective in combat. The combination is the strongest opening-game aggressive pairing.
- Terran: Terran’s baseline stats make Dictatorship’s production bonus directly translate to fleet power without any economic weakness magnification.
