1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly (email address, username, gameplay data) and information generated by your use of the service (IP address, browser type, in-game actions, round statistics).
2. How We Use Your Information
- Operate and improve the Planetia game service
- Send transactional emails (account verification, round notifications)
- Compile anonymized gameplay analytics
- Maintain Hall of Fame and public leaderboards (opt-in via account privacy settings)
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with service providers who process data on our behalf (hosting, analytics, email delivery) under data processing agreements.
4. Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time — see Section 5, Delete Your Account & Data. Hall of Fame entries may be retained in anonymized form after deletion.
5. Delete Your Account & Data
You can delete your Planetia account and its associated data at any time, in one of two ways:
- Self-service (in-app): go to Preferences → Security → Delete Account while signed in. This submits an authenticated deletion request directly to our account service.
- By email: send a deletion request from your registered email address to support@planetia.org with the subject line "Delete my account."
Once a deletion request is confirmed, we permanently remove your account, game profile, and in-game messages within 30 days. Some aggregate or anonymized round-history statistics (for example, entries already published to the Hall of Fame) may persist after deletion — this data cannot be traced back to you once anonymized.
6. Cookies
We use session cookies for authentication and local storage for theme preferences. No third-party advertising cookies are used.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. Submit requests to privacy@planetia.org.
8. Changes
We will notify registered users of material changes to this policy via email at least 14 days before they take effect.
