Destroyer
The Destroyer is the primary fleet combat vessel — the workhorse of mid-to-late Round offensive fleets. Destroyers are built to kill other ships, not to raid or intercept. Their attack-to-cost ratio at their tier is the highest of any line combat vessel, which makes them the most efficient fleet damage-dealer when facing evenly-matched opponents.
Destroyers pair naturally with Cruisers: Destroyers provide concentrated attack output, Cruisers provide the defensive staying power that keeps them in the fight. A Destroyer-heavy fleet without tanking support will win the opening exchange and die in the counterattack.

Visual Aesthetic
Long, narrow hull with a pronounced forward weapons bay housing the primary railgun array. Three weapon hardpoints per side. Minimal superstructure — everything not combat-critical has been removed. The silhouette is a weapon with a drive section attached. Race variants diverge: Zikoan Destroyers are wide, blunt-nosed, and visibly patchwork; Xantha versions are almost impossibly thin and chitin-segmented; Terran ones are identifiable by their modular weapon hardpoints.
